What is LostChurn?

Learn how LostChurn uses AI to recover failed subscription payments and reduce involuntary churn.

LostChurn is an AI-powered failed payment recovery platform built for subscription businesses. It automatically classifies why a payment failed, determines the best recovery strategy, and executes it — turning lost revenue into recovered subscribers.

How It Works

Every failed payment follows a three-step recovery process:

  1. Classify the failure — LostChurn analyzes the decline code from your payment processor, enriches it with historical data, and categorizes it into one of four decline categories (Soft Retry, Hard Customer, Terminal, or Unknown).

  2. Determine the strategy — Based on the classification, LostChurn selects the optimal recovery approach. Soft declines get silent retries at the best time. Hard declines trigger personalized customer outreach. Terminal failures are flagged immediately so you can act.

  3. Execute recovery — The platform handles everything automatically: retrying payments at optimal times, sending branded emails and SMS, and escalating when needed. You monitor results from the dashboard.

Three Core Components

Smart Retry Engine

The engine that powers automatic payment retries. It uses machine learning to pick the right retry timing based on decline type, time of day, day of week, and attempt history. Learn more in Retry Strategies.

Campaign Builder

When silent retries aren't enough, campaigns reach out to customers directly. Choose from pre-built templates or create custom flows with email, SMS, and in-app messaging. See Campaigns for details.

Analytics Dashboard
